Transportation You would fly into Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK). The three options to get to the Sofitel So Bangkok are as follows.
1) Public Taxi, 50-70 minutes, approximately THB400 (THB70 for 2 toll fares which you pay at the toll, THB280 for metered fare, plus THB50 airport fee). Go straight to the designated taxi stand at curbside, do not accept offers from anyone, no matter how official they appear.
2) Airport Link (express train to subway), 45-55 minutes, THB67 (THB45 Airport Link + THB22 MRT) or THB112 (THB90 Airport Link + THB22 MRT). 4 stations to Makkasan station (either 4 stops via blue SA City Line or 1 stop via yellow Makkasan Express Line, do not take Phaya Thai Express, which will bypass and not stop at Makkasan station), transfer/walk 7 minutes to the MRT Purple Line subway Phetchaburi station (involves walking down to street level, street crossing, then down to subway station), take 4 stops to Lumphini station (Southbound to Hua Lamphong), 2 minute walk to Sofitel So. This option is good to use during rush hour (7AM-9AM and 5PM-8PM) and during the rains, when street traffic is typically heavy.
3) Airport Limousine, arranged through Sofitel So, 50-70 minutes, THB2,300 BMW Series 5 (up to 3), THB3,000 BMW Series 7 (up to 3), or THB3,000 Mercedes Van (up to 5), contact hotel
