To establish linkages to promote international business education, research and exchange of information, faculty, and students; promote and widen the scope of cooperation, facilitate communication and expand consciousness of the Asia-Pacific region. PACIBER meets a need: Trade in the Asia Pacific region is the largest and fastest growing in the world. Successfully doing business in the region requires knowledge of the wide variety of cultures, national background, and languages spoken throughout the area. Leading business schools in the region are becoming essential players in providing knowledge and skills for current and prospective business professionals operating in the Asia Pacific region.
The Pacific Asian Consortium for International Business Education and Research (PACIBER) was created in 1988 as a consortium of 28 leading universities dedicated to bridging the gap by establishing linkages to promote international business education, research and exchange of information among faculty and students. With its secretariat at the crossroads of the Pacific, University of Hawaii College of Business Administration's Pacific Asian Management Institute, PACIBER strives to widen the scope of cooperation, facilitate communication, and expand consciousness about Asia among its members, and in the business community at large.
PACIBER mission is: - To establish linkages to promote international business education, research and exchanges of information, facutly and students; and
- To promote and widen the scope of cooperation, facilitate communication and expandconsciousness on asia for the member institutions.
PACIBER principal goals are: First and foremost, PACIBER stands as a forum for the exchange of ideas where members can network and learn from one another. In the process, and through faculty exchanges and other mutually beneficial alliances, member universities can raise the level of their business education process to world class standards. The end result of these activities is to enrich human resource development by graduating future managers who are well prepared for the challenges of increasing multicultural, multinational, and global competition.
